요약문

최근들어 심화되고 있는 기후변화로 지구환경은 열악해지고 있으며 과도한 자원소비로 인해 자 원고갈을 직면하고 있다. 특히 자원이 별로 없는 우리나라로서는 자원의 확보 및 활용이 지속가능 한 성장의 필수적이며 녹색성장의 기반이 되는 것이다. 21세기에 들어서서 세계 10위 이내로 경제 발전을 이루기 위해서는 자원순환사회 구축의 중요성이 더욱 부각되고 있다. 이에 부응하여 2000 년부터 자원재활용기술개발을 '21세기 프론티어사업'이라는 국가 장기대형 국책사업으로 수행하게 되었다.
