Water as an essesntial to life is an indispensable resource. Sustainable water management is needed as one of measures against water depletion and degradation by human activities. This study aimed to develop methodology to evaluate water footprint throughout life cycle of the products as a tool for sustainable water management. The methodology was developed in accordance with ISO 14040s and ISO DIS 14046. Water inventory is the amount of water consumption by water types. Water consumption from direct and indirect sources is calculated to apply Korean life cycle inventory database. Based on the result of water inventory, water-related environmental impacts considering water depletion and degradation is calculated. Case study on cabbages was conducted to evaluate water footprint over the product's life cycle according to the aforementioned methodology.
